Remote Occupancy Monitoring
Each room in the flat is fitted with a motion sensor linked to a GSM unit. The GSM unit logs movement in each room and sends data every five minutes to a remote web server. Care givers are able to log into the web server and view a graphic chart showing activity in the house over a period of time. The system also sends an SMS text message alert to a designated carer should the front door be opened during the night. This system is widely used to support carers looking after dementia sufferers who would otherwise be placed into residential care.
